Welcome from the 50th Reunion Committee
The Class of 1973 50th Reunion Committee welcomes you to this private, password-protected Class of 1973 website. Here is where you can find updates on potential reunion events, read news about and see photos of classmates, share your memories and photos, send private messages to classmates, follow discussion threads, and spend time to remember classmates who have passed on. In your profile you can post what you have done during the past years since we all left Oberlin, as well as information about your family if you wish.
The Committee is planning our 50th Reunion for the weekend of May 19-2w, 2023, and for it to be fully in-person. We will be closely watching the results of the national vaccination campaign on the health of the nation and on the safety of travel and large gatherings in Northeast Ohio, as we get closer to spring 2023. But for now we are optimistic. You can follow the ongoing status at Oberlin at www.Oberlin.edu/news/corona-virus-updates.
It has been gratifying to see how thoughtfully and creatively Oberlin has responded to the challenges of resuming on-campus activities over the last two academic years. Utilizing the summer months of 2021 for a third semester lowered campus density; this coupled with excellent adherence to safety and tracing protocols has resulted in our remaining healthy overall. The current academic year—safely begun with the resumption of the more traditional two-semester schedule last fall—has shown a remarkably low number of infections.
Another responsibility of 50th Reunion Committee members is to reach out to each of you to encourage your contributions to our 50th Reunion Class Gift, which is the signature gift for us to “give back” for those students coming after us. Oberlin needs our support. We hope that you will welcome our outreach and that you will consider giving generously to ensure that current and future Oberlin students have the same high-quality level of education that we received.
Please do establish your profile on this website through the First Time Visitors page, and use the Contact Us button for suggestions for the website itself and suggestions for the 50th Reunion Committee. We greatly look forward to seeing you in person or virtually at our 50th Reunion in Spring 2023.
Stay safe and well!
